چکیده
To ward off pathogens, plants establish innate immunity system in which salicylic acid (SA) plays an important role. The downy mildew of foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is oomycete disease caused by biotrophic pathogen Sclerospora graminicola, seriously affects the yield and quality millet. However, it not clear how SA regulating defense responses In this study, we found that spraying exogenous low concentration (1 mM 3 mM) had good effect on enhancing resistance while high (6 9 did significantly affect Excess inhibited growth development reduced plant height, fresh weight dry promoted accumulation Chlorophyll, soluble sugar proline, activity Phenylalanine Ammonia-Lyase suppressed Malondialdehyde. After treatment with 1 or SA, expressions genes related to were increased at early stage after treatment. results indicated could enhance against provided a basis for improving control methods mildew.

Phytolith Analysis for Differentiating between Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica) and Green Foxtail (Setaria viridis)
Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is one of the oldest domesticated cereal crops in Eurasia, but identifying foxtail millets, especially in charred grains, and differentiating it from its wild ancestor, green foxtail (Setaria viridis), in the archaeobotanical remains, is still problematic. Phytolithic analysis provides a meaningful method for identifying this important crop. In this paper, the s...

Objective: Fusarium diseases that cause grain mold and stalk rot of millet are the most important diseases, of these crops in Iran. Fusarium can cause stalk rots, ear rots, and grain mold, resulting in serious production losses in millet, and produce mycotoxins that are harmful to both humans and domesticated animals. Methods: A total of 23 Fusarium isolates were rec...

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) and Common millet (Panicum miliaceum) are the oldest domesticated dry farming crops in Eurasia. Identifying these two millets in the archaeobotanical remains are still problematic, especially because the millet grains preserve only when charred. Phytoliths analysis provides a viable method for identifying this important crop. However, to date, the identification...
متن کاملGrain Yield and Quality of Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica L.) in Response to Tribenuron-Methyl
Foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.) is cultivated around the world for human and animal consumption. There is no suitable herbicide available for weed control in foxtail millet fields during the post-emergence stage. In this study, we investigated the effect and safety of the post-emergence herbicide tribenuron-methyl (TBM) on foxtail millet in terms of grain yield and quality using a split-plo...
